Garland is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Garland is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Barry and his team did amazing work on my 1967 Chevrolet C10. Mechanically, the truck was doing OK but needed help and when I picked it up after they were done doing their magic, it is running so much better and I'm so confident and it's ability now!

I met with Barry Wilson to discuss work needed to repair our ’41 Cadillac. I shared a long list of items to be considered in his inspection knowing that all of them would not be done at one time but in phases. Once the car was at his shop, he provided a detailed analysis of his inspection. We prioritized the estimate of β€œneed to be done” to be able to drive the car 10-15 mile radius from home and back. Items included new gas tank w/sending unit, gas lines, rebuild carb, adjust shift linkage for smooth shifting, electrical repair to tail/brake lights/head lights, new battery cables, points, condenser, plugs. Updates were provided in a timely manner throughout the job w/pictures. Toward the end of the repair process, Barry contacted me regarding the very rusty bulging freeze plugs on the engine. Upon removal of the freeze plugs, he discovered β€œmud” clogging the openings to the engine. The engine was flushed several times to remove all the build up inside. I appreciated him notifying me of the need and taking care of it while the car was already at his shop. Repairs discovered but not approved at this phase of project include: new radiator, steering parts, suspension parts springs/sh

Wilson Auto Repair handled the full restomod on my 1969 Chevelle, and I couldn't be happier with both the result and the process. Anyone who's done a build like this knows that once the old engine comes out, you find things β€” small areas of rust, firewall blemishes, and other items hiding underneath that need attention before moving forward. What set Wilson apart was how they handled every one of those discoveries. Barry sent me photos and called to walk me through what they found and what the options were, but the decision on which direction to go was always mine. No surprises, no work done without my sign-off, just honest communication at every step. The other thing worth calling out: I have an invoice for every part and every piece of work performed, and those invoices contain the most detailed mechanic's notes I've ever seen. It's not just a paper trail β€” it's a complete documented history of the build that adds real value to the car and serves as a portfolio of the work for years to come. The Chevelle turned out exactly the way I wanted. If you're considering a restomod or any serious work on a classic, Wilson Auto Repair is the shop. Highly recommended.

I’ve had Wilson take care of two of my vehicles, a 79 bronco and a modern day F150 and I’ve been very pleased with not only the work, but the service as well. I have already recommended them to one of my friends that will continue to use them and recommend them in the future.

Very nice folks here, I was very impressed after touring the shop. They finished my Falcon yesterday after repairing many issues it had. The most important issue was the wonky oil pressure it had. They replaced the oil pump, pump driveshaft, pickup tube and screen and the oil pan. The pan was dented badly and had bent the pick up tube up where it was just barely in the oil. Now it has 60 psi cold and 50 psi at operating temperature. Very satisfied with everything that was done which was much more than what's listed above. I had Wilson's Automotive do a Borgeson steering upgrade on my Falcon. It turned out great!! I always receive quality work from these guys!
